Who is Actually AI-Native?

I asked: Is having "AI-native" in your job description ageist?
My question was based on a job post that someone had posted calling for the job candidate to be AI-native.
First of all, what in the hell does it mean to be AI-native?
“The problem with using “AI-native” to describe people in the workforce is that there’s no shared definition of what it actually means. No one in today’s professional landscape was “born into” AI in the way we typically use “native” for technology.” ~ Indra
Some folks had harsher thoughts on that:
“So they’re looking for a 2-5 year old? ~ Jeremy
“How can you be AI native and not be like 10 years old? I swear...this market is insane.” ~ Lorie
“There’s no such thing as AI-native unless you actually are a robot or a toddler. 🤖 👶” ~ Jai
Others fought back against the requirement of being AI-native
“I’m not even digital-native lol - but you know what I have? Actual intellectual curiosity and people skills!” ~ Julia
“I wouldn’t hire someone who is an AI-native in 2026 - because to me it reads as someone who hasn’t been real-world-native first.” ~ Audree
Still others defended the original poster’s point of view
“I wouldn't say this means what you are perceiving it to mean. "AI-native" simply means AI is a core of your design workflow. That's all.” ~ Jacki
“I don't think they're asking for someone who is "native" to AI tools, but rather someone who will lead design of AI-native products, and is skilled with AI tools.” ~ Jason
“I don't think that implies someone was born in a certain generation. It just means that somebody has adapted to the current landscape.” ~ Alec

THE UGLY
Be Careful in Interpreting Survey Results
This cartoon was just too good not to share.
How many times have you heard the question: Is it statistically significant?
Or you see survey results that say: 80% of respondents say they would use this feature.
And you wonder, “How many people actually answered the survey?”
And you wonder, “Are those who answered the survey really representative of the population as a whole?
I think this cartoon sums it up perfectly.
